The 75th session of the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 75) held November 16-20, 2020 resulted in the following outcomes:

• Amendments to cut ship greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions approved
• Resolution on national action plans on GHG emissions from ships adopted
• Fourth International Maritime Organization GHG Study approved
• Proposal for an International Maritime Research Board discussed
• Amendments to MARPOL Annex VI to further strengthen the Energy Efficiency Design Index adopted
• Amendments to Ballast Water Management Convention adopted
• Draft amendments to prohibit the use, and carriage for use, as fuel of heavy fuel oil by ships in Arctic waters approved
• Draft amendments to Convention for the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems on Ships approved
