The global limit on sulphur content in ships’ fuel oil will be reduced from 3.5% to 0.50% on 01 January 2020. The regulation is intended to substantially reduce harmful sulphur oxide (SOx) emissions from ships, bringing significant benefits for both human health and the environment.
