SUMMARY:Virtual Conference on Acoustics in the Arctic Ocean
DESCRIPTION:The Working Group on Arctic Acoustic Environment of the International Quiet Ocean Experiment (IQOE)\nis planning a Virtual Conference on Acoustics in the Arctic. The purpose of the conference is to share\nrecent results from the international community of scientists working on acoustic and bioacoustic research\nand observations in the Arctic region. Abstracts should be related to one of IQOE’s five fundamental\nresearch questions (see https://www.iqoe.org/science/questions). The conference will feature online oral\n(livestream and pre-recorded) and poster presentations\, selected from abstracts submitted. The\nconference will be held on 11-12 November 2020. PowerPoint slides of oral presenters and posters of\nposter presenters will be posted online. There is no registration fee. Registration will be kept open until\nthe time of the conference. \nAbstracts: Abstracts should be limited to 500 words. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Organizing\nCommittee for quality and relevance to the conference. Since there may not be time for all presentations\nto be in oral format\, some participants may be asked to make poster presentations. Abstracts should be\nsubmitted electronically to ed.urban@scor-int.org by 1 October 2020. \nPublishing of Results: Presentations will be linked to the meeting Website with any confidential slides\nremoved. Presentations can be recorded\, if desired. The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America has\nopened a special issue on acoustics in the Arctic Ocean (asa.scitation.org/jas/info/specialissues)\, which could be an excellent place for participants to submit their research. \nClick on this link to view pdf \n  \n
